Even more California expansion for the #NWSL. According to multiple sources, the league's found its 12th team via the ownership group of Sacramento Republic FC. The team plans to start play in 2021.

It’s not often us Big J Journos take a rumor and run with it like Morgan Wheels Weaver. LMAO! Who the hell am I kidding? We do it all the time! And that’s perfectly okay. I trust my fellow reporter and whomever their sources are. So I’ll run with it too, but let it be known I won’t accept blame (again) if a team’s GM wants to call me out for fake news.

It’s a fair question. I’ll admit it, when I saw that tweet, my first reaction was, am I really gonna write another blog this week. My second reaction was, Sacramento? I’ve never been to Cali. I probably won’t go until this website/company pops off (a boy can dream). I have nothing against Sacramento. But… Atlanta, the Bay Area, Canada, another Chicago team?
Look, I can’t shit on Sacramento the entire blog. Here is a list of some positives.
- It’s another expansion team
- They’re in the west
I want the league to be perfect and I guess beggars can’t be choosers. I understand we’ll see a lot more new franchises and probably from those cities I listed above. We’ll get there someday. In the meantime, I will deem the rumored Sacramento NWSL Franchise as my new arch-nemesis. Our rivalry will be among the greats like Ali and Frazier, like Evert and Navratilova, like Orlando and winning sports teams.
More USWNT Players Possibly Going to Europe
This was a bigger shocker than even I could imagine. I’ve already spoken about my feelings on USWNT players in England or Europe what so ever. But it went a little like this, BLAH! I don’t like waking up early. Sue me for that. I will say, I am legitimately scared that if the league doesn’t allow for teams to spend more money, players are going to leave for Europe, for good. Or at least until the next World Cup in 2023.
I am interested to see how the scummy USSF reacts to this news.
USWNT contract players are limited to 3 per year (unless USSF waives the limit this year). As for others, we are already seeing some loans deals this week.

As if we didn’t already have enough to hate that lousy federation amirite. (Side note, I once interviewed to work there and got the cold shoulder. Probably on me, but fuck’em) I for one can’t wait for the day national team players are contracted by their NWSL team and not the USSF. I can picture it, 10 years from now, NT stars Ashley Sanchez contracted by ACFC, Catarina Macario with OL/Seatle, and Carli Lloyd with the new Columbus franchise.
As for our beloved Press and Heath, I would love to see them in Manchester. Dominating the WSL together. Leading the league in scoring and assets together. ____________ together. These NT players are pushing my finger to find illegal streams subscribe to some $9.99 platform to watch 2 games a week. My pockets aren’t that deep people. Believe me, I had to endure the $5.99 CBS thing and watch Charlie Puth serenade me every 5 minutes.
