I last left this blog at what I thought was a prosperous, fun, and exciting time for the NWSL. Not but 7 months ago, the league had been announcing new investors, new business partners, a new expansion franchise, and the league was finally signing some big name foreign players.
What a time that was! A time where all I worried about was Meg dropping the schedule, Vlatko not f*cking up the Olympic Roster (he did), and Crystal Dunn’s chickens. A time where I was excited to watch incoming rookies, 2 new franchises, a new super team, and Batman FC?
The buzz for 2021 was in the air, the sky was the limit for the NWSL. But little did we know, the league that we all praised and supported has been riddled with just straight garbage for many many years.
2021 so far has felt like getting punched in the face, while a UFC Fighter chokes us out, and oh, an anvil just fell out of the sky and landed on our head. It’s just been an endless amount of shithousery that has been incredibly tiresome to watch play out.
How can this league that we all want to help grow and see succeed, continue to make such crass and negligent decisions? How can an organization lack basic leadership? Is it that hard to just be a fucking normal, compassionate human being?
I hate to keep reading these stories. It’s heart-breaking to see players giving their blood, sweat, and tears for a league that has yet to reciprocate even a tiny fraction back.
It’s infuriating to see that problems continue to arise within MORE THAN ONE ORGANIZATION, and to see nothing is done to resolve them.
I hope and fully expect that at the time of you reading this, that Lisa Baird will have resigned from her duties as NWSL commissioner.
But don’t get it twisted! Let it be known and let it be heard from the rooftops;

I don’t know to be quite honest. If i had all the answers I’d make a plea to be the commish. I just don’t. But PRIORITY NUMBER ONE is to protect every single one of your players.
To believe Sarah Gorden when she says that her friends and family were racially profiled in an NWSL Stadum.
To believe Kaiya McCullough and the many other Spirit players when they speak about the mental abuse they suffered in Washington.
To believe Sinead and Mana when they urge you to listen to their story, to get rid of a sexual predator who’s allegations where swept under the rug.
The NWSL cannot continue to be the dysfunctional organization that it is.
The players deserve a fair Collective Bargaining Agreement. The players deserve more resources that’ll protect the players. The players do not deserve to worry about getting physically or mentally harassed when they go to work.
The NWSL needs change and it needs it quick.
We no longer want P.O.S. humans involved in the NWSL. Make your voices heard. Push out the fucking scum in our league. Have Baldwin sell the team. Get Baird out of office. And for the love of god stop sending edible arrangements to your old bosses!
