Sevilla’s, Monchi, aka the Mastermind has Agreed to Move to Roma

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the most incredible person that you are not aware of. Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, aka Monchi, has been the director of football operations for Sevilla for the last 17 years.  I know what your thinking, WTF is a Sevilla. Now, unless your a big fan of The video game FIFA, were Sevilla is the team that vastly overprices it’s players in career mode, you could only know Sevilla as, one of those other teams in La Liga that would never win the league. But surprisingly, Sevilla has been a big time team, not only in Spain, but also in Europe. All in part for Mr. Monchi.

Lets start off with his transfers. If Monchi was a stock broker, he’d be a BILLIONAIRE. Monchi is, what seems to be the founder of, buy low, sell high. He can take this 15 year old Kid, and turn him into this world class team. But haters gunna hate. How good could that list of players sold. Well let’s start off with a little name of Juan Antonio Reyes, who left to Arsenal, and also played at Real Madrid. Next left 2 players to Real Madrid. One was the mid fielder Julio Baptista, and another little name of Sergio Ramos. Then 2 players left to Barcelona, Keita and Mr. Dani Alves. Next comes, Adriano to Barcelona, and Luis Fabiano to São Paulo. And finally, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas to Man City, Geofferey Kondogbia to Monaco, Ivan Rakitic and Alex Vidal to Barcelona, Carlos Barca to AC Milan, Kevin Gameiro to Atletico, and finally Grzegorz Krychowiak to PSG. And these are just the big names. All these players have transferred in and out for a total profit of over 100€ Million.

Now it’s one thing to buy and sell players, it’s another to be successful. Monchi will leave with a total of 11 championships. ELEVEN. Though none are for the league, 5 of them come from the Europa League. THE EUROPA LEAGUE! The first 2 were back to back, and the next 3 were back to back to back. Then 2 Copa del Reys.

Monchi has been a legend at Sevilla. Though the agreement has not been set in stone, it does seem as though The American owned Roma is the clear cut favorite. Monchi will takeover a Roma team that hasn’t won a trophy since 2007-08. It will be fun to see if Monchi and go to Italy and win one for Roma, aka America!
