Look, I got a thing. Not a big thing, but I promise it’s growing and will be ferocious and as solid as steel. No, I’m not talking about my penis, that’s already big, I’m talking about this website. I get it, I’m not the Lakers. I don’t have Lebron James leading the team. This website is more of a Cleveland Cavaliers with Zero Assets and our best player is still playing at Duke. Well, in this case, I am that best player (only player), and while I am in college (the reason I put forward for not dedicating 1000 percent of my time to the blog), I can’t exactly say I’m the Zion of soccer bloggers.
So why on earth would Aaron West ever pick a small company, well legally this isn’t even a company yet, with less than 15 followers on Twitter and 30 on Instagram. I’ll tell you why, because no matter where you choose to go, whether it be (enter a list of soccer media companies I don’t care to mention), this place will always accept you with open arms. Well, unless you go to B*rstool, in which case doors are closed after that.
But seriously, what we offer is a platform that has ZERO FILTER for your opinions, probably a percentage of equity in the company, but, for me, most importantly, WE ARE HERE TO PUSH SOCCER IN AMERICA! I get it, I love to watch the Champions League and other Euro teams as much as the next person, but how the fuck could someone want soccer to grow in America, by pushing content from teams outside of America.
While, yes it’s true, Don Garber is coddling the league too much and is raising it in a bible-thumping manner, what people fail to realize is, there are a SHIT TON of soccer leagues out there. I started this company to push MLS, USL (1,2,3,4 and 5?), NWSL, NCAA men and women’s soccer, and more, but with no filter, and sometimes with a comedic root to it, although if you read the site now you’d probably not sense it. As someone that went through that path of playing in the amateur levels, you more than anyone should know how much potential for growth this sport has here, and this company is going to help push that agenda.
So whatever path you end up choosing, I wish you the best of luck. But just know the BackUp Allstars will be growing and growing and growing, and doors will always be open for you here,
