Shout out to this lady for being totally clueless about soccer. She’s sees some players wearing matching Chicago Fire jumpsuits, and kindly asks the old fella near them to use her phone for a picture. I think this is a great picture that defines Soccer in America. Nobody knows what’s going on, yet if some of them are dressed like a team, then they must be important.
Nothing makes me happier, than knowing that Bastian isn’t getting mobbed every he goes. That in some places, his privacy is being respected. Little do people know, he is a world class athlete with 25 championships to his name. Not only that, he has consistently appeared on Europe’s highest played soccer players list. Bastian is a German Hero. He would have a crowd anywhere he goes, but in America, he’s the old guy that dresses weird.
Situations like this will forever make me think of little John Stockton, walking through Barcelona in 1992 in the hey day of the Dream Team. Imagine being a super famous dude, and being able to just go for a walk without having shirts shoved in your face for an autograph, or stopping for pictures. It’s the little things.
