First and foremost, T’s and P’s to Mia Fishel. We can never have anything nice, can we? First, it was Cat, then Press, then Sam then Mal. Soccer is truly a never-ending hell of bad news after bad news. And it just feels worse when it happens to young players on the precipice of stardom.
ACL injuries really has been an epidemic in women’s soccer that has not been addressed. Now I’m no scholar, and far from it (duh). But I hope more and more studies are being researched by scientists in their fancy labs to figure out how to mitigate these injuries, at the very least.
Here is a list of some studies I found regarding injuries in Women’s Soccer. What we truly need is a study into the difference a better training facility and added resources for these athletes would make. (TBH we already know the answer right?)

Okay, a little context. Alex Morgan was not called up to the USWNT for the CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup. Maybe it had to do with her not scoring a goal since February. I won’t comment on that.

Considering Alex’s tweet occurred before Mia’s injury was publicized (I think don’t quote me on that), there is a strong possibility that Alex did not know the extent of Mia’s injury.
For that, I am of the opinion that Alex does not need to be sent to Guantanamo. Just a poorly-timed tweet. Unless she did know, in which case ship her off today!
She of course tried to save face. But too little too late. The hounds were on her ass. Screenshots were saved. Receipts were kept. 👀
All I have to say is this, I don’t think we need to eviscerate Alex online for her little eyeballs tweet. Her not being able to take her daughter to Disneyworld is punishment enough.
