OL Reign Is Building The NWSL’s First Super Team And I Don’t Hate It

Do you see what I see? No, not the scuffed formatting of this website. I mean the overwhelming amounts of talent OL Reign is gathering for the 2022 season. What Jean-Michel and the Baguette Squad have done in the little time as the owners of our beloved Seattle-Tacoma-Washington area NWSL team is remarkable.

You just hate to see people invest into a league only to not give a single second of time into that investment. I’m talking about you Gov. Murphy you sleaze-ball. I’m here for active NWSL owners. My hat tips for the new Angel City FC and Kansas City WoSo owners. We need more investors and more particularly people that actually give a shit about the teams and don’t do it for clout.

Back to the moves. Lets just take a look of the names on the Reign team for 2022. Renard, Lavelle, Marozsan, Bouhaddi, Tziarra, Balcer, Watt. For my money, no team is going to come close in 2022. My money is already on them and lines haven’t come out yet. I’d imagine we see lines for them to win the league in 2022 is around +150. Some seriously good odds assuming Ally Watt and Tziara King grow into the players we all know can grow into.

I for one am very happy to see these European super stars make their way to the states, be it under coercion or not. I would like to add I have no way in knowing if the Baguette squad has contractually mandated these players to play in Tacoma, Washington it is simply a bad joke. But better then bad jokes is stealing elite level talent from Europe, especially with our American compatriots moving overseas.

Now more than ever do we need top talent around the world to play in the NWSL. I believe the league made a huge advancement with the signing of Lindsey Horan and Crystal Dunn to their respective clubs. So long are the days of the USSF making the NWSL clubs their bitches. I pray for the day Rose Lavelle can go a full 90 minutes in an actual playoff game without Kate Markgraf slapping Rose’s head coaches with a handcuff.

Anyways, here’s hoping this is just the beginning of an influx of stars to the NWSL. Bring me Ada! Deyna to ACFC! Eventually Macario! Bring me all the GOATS!
