Carlos Vela going on loan to Barcelona. (?)

There aren’t many Mexican soccer players who are worthy of playing at Barcelona. I think probably only apart from La Chofis Lopez, Carlos Vela has that Barcelona false 9 play style. Now Carlos Vela and La Chofis Lopez are very different of course. One has played for one of the world’s most popular club and is one of Mexico’s best players currently, and the other is Carlos Vela. With Barca focusing their attention on a Champions League Run, adding Vela will give them that added depth to run with the backups and still beat every La Liga team by 3 goals every time. I mean let’s be honest, La Liga, outside of Barca and both Madrid’s, is a bit of a joke. Hell, I’d bet if Toronto FC of 2 years ago played in La Liga, they’d place as high as 13th place. With Vela on his way to Barca (allegedly), this puts Will Ferrell and all his LAFC legion in a tough cookie. As great as LAFC did in their inaugural year, without Vela, LAFC is Bob Bradley and a bunch of people dragged off the street. That’s a joke of course (kinda). I mean, sure Diego Rossi had a good season. But Vela is the type of player that has opposing coaches up all night planning their practices around how they’ll isolate him. If I were an opposing coach, I’d probably just get some players to throw a party and eventually he’d just show up. You wouldn’t even need to invite him, Vela can sniff out any party within a 100 mile radius. Although, if we’re being honest, with his level of fame and salary, parties aren’t the only thing he’s sniffing (allegedly).

But this move may have you thinking, ‘why on earth am I riding news from this website?’ But you’re also thinking, is this move any good for the MLS? Well, I say both yes and no. Yes, because we can finally claim that the MLS has players with the capabilities of sitting on the bench at Barcelona, pretty good huh. However, the bad part being, MLS’ most marketable player, is leaving to sit on the bench at Barcelona. Yeah, I get it, on one hand, we want the world to recognize that we have ELITE talents, but on the other hand, did you hear we have ELITE talent? Anyways, I hope that Vela does make that move to Barca. For his financial and popularity gain? Hell No! He is one of Chivas greatest exports and nothing would be a bigger brag over Club America than saying we’ve had a player at Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man United, and Arsenal over the last 10 years. Take that wilotas!
