Red Card, Yellow Card, and Goals of the Weekend

Weekend update for 4/14-16-    First off congrats to A.C. Milan for a pretty good week. First you get a new owner that will probably invest a TON of money, and making them a dominant European force. Then they rip out the hearts of Inter Milan’s fans with 2 late goals in this weekends Milan Derby. How much of the tied game has to do with Samir Handanovic getting rid of his hat? 2-0 with the hat in the first half, then he loses his hat and A.C. ties the game. Coincidence? NOPE.

Anyways, its the weekend after the Champions League week that should Barca getting their assholes ripped by Juventus, and Madrid taking a W vs Bayern. Though both teams won this weekend, they did so by conceding 2 goals each. Though Madrid played their, “B Team,” Barca went with their All-Stars and still conceded goals to Real Sociedad. Let’s get to the RYG before I lose my mind.

GOALS

Angel Di Maria gets our first spot in the Goals. Not only did he score both goals in the 2-0 win against Angers, but one was a brilliant free kick. Though the keeper was wrongly positioned before the kick, from that distance, and that bend in the ball makes it a fantastic goal. The second goal is from Marcon Jhonfai Fabian de la Mora, of Frankfurt. Fabian scores an absolute screamer against Dortmund. It reminds me of that time him and Chivas destroy Barcelona 4-0 in a 2011 friendly. Those goals are much better than this one, but it was the goal to tie it up against Dortmund and was incredible at the time. Did they still lose 2-0? Yes. Does that take away from the goal? No. The 3rd goes to Isco that put on a great show against Sporting Gijon. Isco is SO UNDERRATED. Poor guy rarely gets a chance to start, but when he does, he PERFORMS. Isco puts up 2 fantastic goals and almost makes the goal of the year. The last Goal is for El Guaje Villa. David Villa himself throws up a prayer from half court. The goalie absolutely should’ve stopped the ball, but great awareness from Villa to shoot it with the goalie off the line.

Yellow Cards

Yellow Card to 1.FC Cologne. The goats came into the weekend at 6th place. Final spot in the Europa League Group Stage. But then, they go and dick around vs Augsburg that is fighting to stay in First division. No less, Augsburg has conceded nearly double as many goals, as they’ve scored. Absolute no reason to lose 2-1 against Augsburg. Yellow card for Inter Milan. Last weekend, I gave Inter a Yellow for how they started. This week, they get a yellow for how they finish. They took a 2-0 lad before halftime, only to end in a tie with a 97th minute goal. As I mentioned earlier, it may have to do with Handanovic taking off his hat, but they need close out that game. Last yellow card is for Fiorentina. The Florence team lost 2-1 to 17th place Empoli. Empoli had only won 1 away game prior to the match. Not only that, they conceded more than double goals than scored with a ratio of 8 in favor to 26 against. SAD.

Red Card

Only 2 red cards. Again sticking with the goalkeeper fails theme, we go to Australia for our first blunder. Perth Glory’s GK Liam Reddy thought he was playing FIFA and tried taking the opposing team with thrick moves. But as a GK, even being up 5-3, you can’t go and doing these stupid things. Especially when you have allowed a league leading, 53 goals. The second is of Mehdi Jean, of French Ligue Two’s Clermont Foot. Big time fail. I actully have no words for it. Can’t make that mistake.

Our Best Highlight is of David Villa’s half court goal vs Philadelphia Union. And our Low Light is Perth Glory’s Liam Reddy.
