When Argentina lost 2-0 to Bolivia after losing Messi, everybody was a little worried for La Albiceleste. You can’t help but think, “what in the fuck is going on?” They have some world class players, and prior to the suspension, they had the GOAT. Even without Messi, there is no reason, whatsoever, that they are sitting 5th. With a goal difference of just +1, Argentina needed a change.
Though Argentina has been crap on the pitch, the Bauza firing might come after Argentine legend Gabriel Batistuta, mentioned the lack of recognition in the locker room as the second most scoring player in Argentina history should receive.
Now that Argentina sit without a coach, who should the go out and hire. Rumor is that Jorge Sampaoli, of Sevilla, is the favorite to get the job. But there are loads of people that Argentina can offer the job too.
Antoinio Muhammad of Monterrey, Diego Simeone of Atlético Madrid, Matías Almeyda of CD Guadalajara, Marcelo Gallardo of River Plate, Mauricio Pochettino of Tottenham, and Gabriel Batistuta are all really good candidates for the job. Though all, except Batistuta, are coaches under contract, no proud patriot can reject a chance to coach for their country.
