Weekend Recap

It’s Monday, and this past weekend was a doozy. We had international soccer action, spring ball, NBA, and March Madness. It really was a pretty decent weekend. March Madness lived up to the hype, NBA had a 20 year old go HAM, and some entertaining footy.

FRIDAY-

Friday night was a really good one. First started off with the US Mens Soccer team going out and thrashing Honduras. Clint Dempsey was looking like Wilt Chamberlain. Absolutely dominated the game. He completed his Hat-trick with a beautiful free kick. At the end of the game, everyone tuned into the end of the Florida and Wisconsin game. Zak Showalter went to church the night before and prayed to the heavens, saying, “if it becomes to be a close game, please let me make in a one foot, three point, runner, to tie the game.” But Florida ripped out Wisconsin’s heart and stomped on it with a one foot three point runner of their own. But this time for the W. Oh, by the way, 20 year old Devin Booker put up 70 on the Celtics. And the Suns still didn’t win. Also, Lavar Ball and the Bruins lost to Kentucky, and immediatley after the game, Lonzo Ball declares for the NBA. Our highlight of the night, should’ve been the Florida buzzer beater, or Dempsey’s free kick, but scoring 70 at the age of 20 is ridiculous so here’s his best of the 70.

Saturday-

Saturday was more soccer than anything. Purely European World Cup qualifiers. Portugal beats Hungary 3-0, where CR7 scores his 70 international goal. France, Bosnia &Herz, and Sweden all win comfortably. And Bulgaria pulls an upset on the Netherlands 2-0. In the MLS, Minnesota UTD get the shit kick out of them again. And in a rematch of the 2015 final, Columbus wins 3-2. The other upset came in College Basketball with Oregon beating number 1 seed Kansas. Our highlight for the night is courtesy of Mr. Ronaldo himself with a sweet farside free kick.

Sunday-

Sunday fun day, kicked off with some early soccer. England and Germany both had early kickoffs, and both played brilliantly. Although the score did’t show it, England absolutely dominated Lithuania. And Germany showed it on the board with an easy 4-1 win against Azerbaijan. Then South Carolina once again upsets a higher seed to make the Final Four. After that North Carolina and Kentucky put on an absolute show case. Down the stretch Kentucky ties the game with a late 3, only to get their hopes smashed by Luke Maye. Also, no big deal, Maye goes to class at 8 a.m. this morning. A hero amongst us normals. Obviously, those last 10 seconds of the UNC vs UK game.
